<p>So you have an <a href="http://scalegamer.com/category/asus-eeepc/">EeePC</a> and decided that playing with open office just wasn&#8217;t as fun as it used to be and need something to fill the void. Well you can sleep easy tonight because I spent my weekend testing a few titles on the EeePC to show how much grunt this little beast really has.</p>
<p>Sorry for some of the loading times, these tests where done over wireless.</p>
<ul>
<li>Max Payne</li>
<li>Far Cry</li>
<li>Mugen</li>
<li>Call of Duty</li>
<li>AudioSurf</li>
<li>Super Mario 64</li>
<li>Peggle</li>
</ul>
<p><span id="more-59"></span></p>
<p><span style="color:royalblue;font-size:18px;">Q:</span> Why didn&#8217;t you use Fraps to record the videos?<br />
<span style="color:green;font-size:18px;">A:</span> Fraps is great, it&#8217;s fast, records to a number of formats and is perfect for my needs <span style="text-decoration:underline;"> if I was not using the EeePC.</span> The EeePC is a great device but like any other computer it needs to be powerful enough to #1 play the game and #2 handle recording / encoding at the same time, sadly this is not possible.</p>

<p>Today we take a look at Grand Theft Auto 3 on the Asus EeePC, a game much more suited for consoles in the past made it&#8217;s way to the PC platform during the year 2002.</p>
<p>Many gamers know this classic title and now you have the chance to play it almost anywhere.</p>
<h1>Performance</h1>
<p>Grand theft auto 3 runs very well on the EeePC. The frame rate is typically between 15-30fps solid or greater and is very playable. GTA3 sadly doesn&#8217;t feature a benchmark or time demo for more detailed results.</p>
<h1>Screenshots</h1>
<p></p>
<p align="center">
<a href="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-19-37-85.jpg"><img src="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/thumb/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-19-37-85.jpg" id="thumb" /></a><a href="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-20-48-68.jpg"><img src="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/thumb/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-20-48-68.jpg" id="thumb" /></a><a href="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-22-10-56.jpg"><img src="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/thumb/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-22-10-56.jpg" id="thumb" /></a><a href="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-23-21-81.jpg"><img src="http://scalegamer.com/images/eeepc/games/gta3/thumb/Gta3 2008-01-20 02-23-21-81.jpg" id="thumb" /></a>
</p>
<p></p>
<h1>Tweaks</h1>
<p>On startup GTA3 will display an error that it cannot find resolution 640×480 and will exit.</p>
<p>You can overcome this by connecting the EeePC to a external monitor, the game will launch perfectly and you will be able to set 800×480 resolution.</p>
