It has been 21 years since the Nintendo Entertainment System first launched in Australia. Considering I was born in 1987 the years passed and things progressed I almost missed the NES growing up but thankfully my next door neighbor owned one.

I would of been 3 or 4 years old when I first played Super Mario Brothers, addictive music, crisp visuals, stunning game play and probably the coolest babysitter of all time for rather then looking after me…..just let my mind turn into cheese, ok I lied they where a great babysitter but oh how I wanted to play the NES.

While I never owned a NES growing up I did have the chance to play though quite frequently at friends house so that was ok I guess….

Never mind all that, now is as good as any time or age to own a NES….So let the 8-bit gaming begin!

I’m slowly building the games collection and trying to source a few of my favorite titles, Super Mario 3 is at the top of my list that I need to get and many more great classics follow.

Q: So why a NES?
A: My mother owned an Atari 2600, she had got it from my grandfather during the early 1980′s. I found my self playing the Atari 2600 from a very young age right up until I got a Super Nintendo….thus missing the nes altogether and being to young to understand old from new and left from right.

Q: Did you have any other consoles or gaming experiences when you where younger?
A: I sure did, but that will be for another article
